Human Food Contamination, and Updates on Melamine in Everything

(A quote from the press conference: "Not initiating recall because poultry and pork are such a small part of most people’s diets." -- What? What?)

In what world are these people living in? Chicken, bacon, ham, pork... Small part?

Man, we're screwed - us and our pets.

I will admit I don't eat much pork. And I know I'll be having a pork-free summer (Jewish camp and all.) But who doesn't eat a lot of chicken? I've been trying to eat more, in fact, and less red meat.

Hey, the FDA may not keep our food safe, but they're doing some great work in keeping us from getting access to birth control. :)

It's funny, since I moved home in '04, I've eaten more beef than I used to, probably because Dad didn't eat chicken, so Mom didn't cook it that often. Since she's been gone, I've started moving back over to the fowl side :) Though I do tend to like BBQ pork :) and ham, gods above, I love ham. But, yeah, chicken is probably more of a staple than beef.

As for birth control, as I said in a friend's LJ who was ranting about her period - you know it's bad when you're glad you had cancer because you got to get a hysterectomy and don't have to worry about any of that crap anymore - birth control or menstrual problems!
