Life is boring - except for psycho kitty rampaging through the house.

I've applied for 5 jobs - hopefully one will be interested.

We did have a bit of excitement - this guy, in his 20's, asked to rent my great aunt's house. He said he'd do some work on it in exchange for a break on the rent. The house has been empty for several years now and needs some serious work (if it can be fixed up - we may end up just tearing it down). Well, we think we know why he wanted such a rundown, out of the way place - we think he's cooking meth down there. My brother walks through the woods down that way a couple of times a day and he's seen lots of strange cars (we live on a road that doesn't get a whole lot of traffic) and the guy's been burning an awful lot of trash. Mom told the guy he had a week to get his stuff and leave - they had a very informal rent agreement - but later that day, Richard(my brother) saw someone bringing in a couple of propane tanks. So Richard called the police. No action yet that we know of from the police - probably investigating first, but a friend of his is going to work on getting the house condemned, so no one can stay there. Anyone know who you see about getting a house torn down?

May books - I hit 100! 101, actually:

Hard Truth by Nevada Barr - newest in her Anna Pigeon series - excellent as always - 5/5

Dead Run by P.J. Tracy - 3rd & best so far in the Monkeewrench series - 5/5

Hidden Warrior by Lynn Flewelling - 2nd in the Tamir trilogy - want #3 NOW! - 5/5

Old Man's War by John Scalzi - Turn 75 and join the service and fight aliens! (SF) - 5/5

Now You See It... by Vivian Vande Velde - always excellent teen/kids fantasy - a story for anyone who wears glasses :) - 5/5

Conspiracies by F. Paul Wilson - 3 more in the Repairman Jack series - all 4 to 4.5/5
Crisscross by F. Paul Wilson
Hosts by F. Paul Wilson

Remember Me by Sharon Sala - A woman reappears after a 2 year absence with no memory of the time in between. Now she and her husband have to figure out what happened. Romantic thriller, predictable, but fun. 4/5

Mort by Terry Pratchett - I think I like Death better in the brief appearances :) but still fun. 4/5

Close To You by Christina Dodd - 3rd in the Prescott family series - we find out the truth behind the parents' deaths and the youngest sister is reunited with her siblings, with a stalker and a hot bodyguard thrown in. 3.5/5

Saving Cascadia by John J. Nance - 3/5 - not as interesting as his other books, though it held my attention.

The Librarian by Larry Beinhart - 3/5 - it's about a librarian, for Pete's sake, of course I had to read it! Not my usual thing though.

Between the Lines by Jayne Ann Krentz - both substandard for Krentz - I think they're older and more
Ghost of a Chance by Jayne Ann Krentz - in the series romance type. 2/5

It's been an oddly lazy month
