It appears that past events kept me from the monthly taunting of my friends!

I did some serious comfort reading - lots of rereads that wouldn't tax any brain cells or hit the emotions too hard.

January:
1. Poison Heart by Mary Logue - rural police procedural, described as "a how-will-she-solve-it rather than a whodunit" follows deputy sheriff Claire Watkins trying to trap a murderous gold-digger.

Ford - writer Frank Corso's presence is requested by a prisoner leading a takeover of a high security prison, where he ends up in the company of two desperate men on a cross-country killing spree while being followed by a TV reality show host hoping to boost her falling ratings.**

Accompanied by Admiral Festina Ramos, Youn and Corps partner Tut travel to a planet where the entire population has suddenly vanished. **

6. The Maltese Goddess by Lynn Hamilton - an archaeological mystery set on the island of Malta.

7. The Zenith Angle by Bruce Sterling - Post 9/11, a computer geek turns government cyberwarrior. Much less thrilling than the description, possibly due to lack of technical knowledge on my part.

8. Curses! by Aaron Elkins - an archaeological mystery set in the Yucatan.

9. The Moche Warrior by Lyn Hamilton - another archaeological mystery about the smuggling of Peruvian artifacts.

10. Thriving on Vague Objectives by Scott Adams - the newest Dilbert collection.
