Interview meme
Oct. 12th, 2005 04:35 pm1. What is your dream job? I think I've come close - Libraries seem to be my niche. But I'd love to have a library job doing programs for kids & adults, and a combination of tech services/computer support. Occasional public service would be acceptable, but it's the thing I like least - and the thing you have to do most::sigh::
2. If you could change one thing in your past, what would it be? I can't think of an event or decision that I'd really change, but I wouldn't mind having been smart enough to lose weight back when it would have been so much easier physically.
3. If you could meet any fictional character, who would you choose and why? Well, I was thinking of the obvious one, just for the stories, but I think I'm going to vote for Honor Harrington (by David Weber). I really like her - she's tough and strong, but feels things deeply and agonizes over the choices she has to make - a female in a traditionally male venue; hated, feared and adored. Plus she has a treecat! I want to meet Nimitz :)
4. If you had to choose between losing your hearing and losing your vision, which would you choose and why? Easy choice for me, even though I'd still hate it - I'd rather lose my hearing. Why? Because if I couldn't read, I'd lose the major joy in my life. I'd hate not hearing - music, purring, sound of the surf, storytelling... But reading is my life - and there's not a lot of hyperbole in that statement.
5. What one place would you like to visit in this lifetime that you haven't already been? I think a lot of us would be meeting in Scotland :) I'd say the whole UK, to get in Wales and Ireland too - and to skip the fact that I've been to England (London, Canterbury, Dover - high school trip). Or the US as a whole - I've been to a lot of places, but never long enough to explore properly and I'd love to hit all the parks and monuments and such.
And to keep it going:
