Ended up going to the doctor, who x-rayed my knee and sent me to an orthopedist(?)
He said that bruising like I have on my knee can be as bad as a fracture. So, stay
off, elevate, do some knee exercises, use a cane or walker. The cane does help,
especially with the up and down parts.

Problem has been swelling and soreness of my calf muscles, which basically have
decided to scream any time anything touches them. Which makes elevating the leg
somewhat problematic. Even the good pills weren't doing much. Well, tonight, after
my shower, I thought the leg felt somewhat better, so got a heating pad from Mom
and used it on my muscles - oh, man, so much better. I think it loosened them up
enough that it'll be easier tomorrow.

Saturday I'm going awol - I'm unemployed, there is no job to take leave from :)
Going to the SCLA retreat, where I'm on a committee, then Mom and I are headed
to the beach until Tuesday, when we'll head up to NC on a visit to an aunt. Back
home by Thursday for my return visit to the orthopedist. Then Friday, I drive
down to Columbia for my first onsite class this semester.

Nothing on the job front yet. Gotten two rejections. Still at least one or two active
resumes out in library land. Nothing from the temp agency either. Sent a resume to a
local company for a totally different job doing medical software installation:

Job Title: Software Specialist - Spartanburg, SC
Job Description: Responsibilities for position include installation of software at customer location, training customer on application and troubleshooting application. Frequent overnight travel required.
Qualifications: Qualifications for position include one to two years of related experience. Four year degree preferred but experience may be substituted for degree. Position requires excellent communication and analytical skills. Previous software training experience a plus.

No idea if they'll call me or not, but, being as there was no salary listed, could you,
my "much more advanced technologically" friends, tell me what kind of money this should
be? Or should I just run screaming? I did have the brains not to apply for the customer
telephone support :)
