Would have made this entry last week, except for power outage and illness ::sigh::

Travel nonfiction:
Fodor's 1001 Smart Travel Tips - excellent book. Bought myself a copy.
The Traveler's Tool Kit by Robert Sangster - very good info. (A to Z author)

Romantic thrillers:
The Death Dealer by Heather Graham - A serial killer targets the NYC Poe Society and Genevieve O'Brien hires PI Joe Connolly to work the case and protect her mother. Joe is troubled by his recently acquired ability to speak to ghosts and Gen has apparently developed the same ability after a horrifying recent captivity. Eh, readable.
Dark Summer by Iris Johansen - I finished this mostly to get my "J" author. Highly unbelieved and convoluted - I like veternarian Devon Brady - she's tough and her love of dogs comes through easily; Nick, the vet she bought her practice from and who now works for/with her, is a good character too; everyone else is fairly stereotypical and irritating.(A to Z author)

And where the heck did all this psychic stuff come from? *Everybody* has psychic abilities in the romantic thrillers now. Jayne Ann Krentz has been doing it for years, so her books don't bug me as much (plus, in all honesty :) I'm a huge fan). It's just not a favorite plot development of mine and almost always guarantees a lower rating. ::Sigh:: Maybe I'm just in a bitchy mood.
