Jamaica Me Dead by Bob Morris - A former teammate asks Zack to help out with security on a Jamaican resort. But as soon as Zack arrives, his friend is killed by a car bomb. Zack tries to figure out if it was related to the resort's owner (who has ties to organized crime), the owner's son (who's in politics) or something else. Boggy shows up for some mystical help and Zack's determination and sense of humor do the rest. Good series. This was #2. (A to Z title)

Grifter's Game by Lawrence Block - Con man Joe Marlin usually scored off women, in both the sexual and monetary senses. Until he met Mona. Now if he wants Mona, he'll have to do what he's never done before - kill someone. Good, expected the double cross, but not the ending (A to Z title, TBR, S/T)

Sick Puppy by Carl Hiaasen - Twilly Spree is an extreme environmentalist. So when he discovers the litterbug he's been following is a lobbyist arranging for the development of an small Florida island, he dognaps the man's Labrador and threatens its' life unless the governor vetoes the development. The threats are fake, but the plot gets complex when both the developer and the governor round up people to find Twilly - one of whom may end up on Twilly's side. Weird, funny. Liked others by Hiaasen better. (TBR, S/T)
