Ember's first drag
Mar. 24th, 2005 03:06 pmI'd say Ember's first walk, but she wouldn't! :>
Mom bought a harness and leash while she was out this morning and we just tried to take her for a walk outside. When we first tried the harness on her while inside, it was too loose and she got out. Took us a while to be able to lay hands on her to try again. We tightened it up, Mom caught her while she was eating, and I put it on her. Then I drug (dragged?) her out of the house.
There's a small cement walkway right outside the door and we have some chairs there. She didn't seem to mind laying outside in the chair, but whenever I tried to get her to move, she'd just collapse flat on the ground and I'd have to drag her. It was very cute! (Yes, I'm cruel and evil - that's why you love me :> )
I think we need to tighten the harness a bit more and I'll try to start taking her outside on the leash and just sitting there. She seemed to enjoy that.
Then, of course, I had to drag her back in. Going to try leaving the harness part on her occasionally, so she gets used to it.
Mom and I both think she'll love it when the weather gets warmer and we can open the windows - she'll be a windowsill cat, we think.
