Feb. 1st, 2009 01:33 amA Foxy Old Woman's Guide to Traveling Alone Around Town and Around the World by Jay Ben-Lesser - an older woman who likes to travel (with a husband who doesn't)has written a nice for the woman who's never traveled alone, starting with trips out around town, proceeding to overnight trips, and then, the world. There are some exercises in the beginning to help build up your confidence in yourself and to heighten your awareness of your surroundings. Nice tips on traveling, packing, etc. in a small-ish book that could easily be packed to travel with. Not completely sold on some of her rooming tips, especially the staying at youth hostels - though I like the idea of car camping (but I think I'll stick with hotels!) (TBR challenge)

Stitch Graffit by Heather Holland-Daly - some cute and unexpected designs in a more untraditional manner than the usual samplers and such, with alternate materials and finishings.
